TI Automotive, a leading global supplier of fluid storage, carrying and delivery technology has recently opened its fifth facility in India.

The all-new 73,000-square-foot (6,800-square-meter) facility produces fuel tank systems for Nissan vehicles built in India. The new location is TI Automotive’s first fuel tank production facility in India that will employ 80 people.

“India provides exciting growth opportunities for global suppliers as vehicle production and market demand continue to increase,” Bill Kozyra, chairman, CEO and president, TI Automotive said.

“With this new facility, we have expanded our reach to bring our long-standing fuel tank systems expertise to the region in order to meet the needs of our customers,” Kozyra added.

Hans Dieltjens, executive vice president, Fuel Tank Systems, TI Automotive said, “There is a rapidly increasing global demand for plastic fuel tank systems, and as a recognized leader, it is essential that we establish dedicated production facilities in order to support our customer base.”

TI Automotive’s other manufacturing locations in India are in Bangalore, Baroda, Chennai and Manesar and produce fluid carrying systems, including brake and fuel lines.

It recently introduced the world’s first plastic fuel tanks specifically designed for hybrid vehicles.

The company has developed the award-winning plastic fuel tanks that help automakers meet new fuel economy demands by reducing weight and emissions while optimizing packaging.
