In view of the onset of summer vacation rush in trains, Western Railway’s (WR) Anti-Tout squad of Mumbai Division carried out a raid at a travel agent and detected a case of unauthorized ticketing on high commission from the passengers.
During a special drive conducted on February 11, 2012 by Anti Tout Squad of Mumbai Division of WR along with the RPF staff at a Travel agent in Vapi, it was found that the party was carrying out the business of procuring and supply of Railway Reservation Tickets which were got generated through Passenger Reservation System of Railways and being sold on high premium. It also came to the light that though the party had a licence to book ‘E’ tickets from IRCTC, it was selling ‘E’ tickets generated on personal ID.
During the raid, 13 tickets generated from different PRS centres booked for 63 passengers of value Rs.28,367, Close to 31 ‘E’ tickets generated through personal ID for 221 passengers of value Rs.59,437 and Rs.1730 cash were seized among other things.
A case has been registered with RPF post VAPI against the owner of Sai Travels. He was arrested and produced in the court for further judicial procedure.
