Mumbai International Boat Show 2012 to kick off from Feb 23-26


The 6th edition of the annual Mumbai International Boat Show (MIBS 2012) will start from February 23-26, 2012 at the MMRDA grounds in Bandra Kurla Complex, which will bring luxury, super-luxury boats and designer yachts that have never been seen on the Indian shores.

There will a display of variety of day boats, speed boats, security boats, personal watercrafts, kayaks, boating accessories, marine engines, marine toys and some of the finest, most luxurious yachts, large boats and sail boats.

The four-day annual leisure boating event has over the years seen a steady increase of international marine exhibitors, enthusiast participations. Touted as India’s largest and only truly international boat show, MIBS 2012 will bring a unique opportunity to participate in a well established platform to cater to arguably the largest untapped leisure boating market in the world.

In their efforts to promote the boating industry in India, CII International Boating Conference titled ‘Navigating Forward,’ will be held on the February 24 at the same venue supported by MTDC , Mumbai Yacht Club and Yachting Association of India. The conference will cover wide range of interest to stakeholders in the industry and leading industry players will participate and share their thoughts and ideas in exclusive interactive roundtable sessions.

Maneck Davar,Chairman, Mumbai Boat Show said, “The sixth edition of the Mumbai International Boat Show is a reflection of the times. The renewed interest in developing infrastructure, especially in Mumbai, has resulted in an increase in participation and interest in the show. This year, we have far more brands, with the entire industry now on board. The CII Boating Conference on the occasion of the Mumbai International Boat Show 2012 is more purposeful and result oriented with an active participation of government agencies. This year, the state of Gujarat is participating with a clear mandate of developing a holistic plan of tourism on water. All in all, it promises to be an exciting event.”

The MIBS 2012, in addition of receiving official backing and sanction from the Government of Maharashtra, Indian Coast Guard, Yachting Association of India, Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), and the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation, received the support from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 2011.
